his program is holistic and focuses on the education and treatment of chemical
dependency. It is based on the medical model and the 12 step program. This program
is a minimum of 12 weeks in length. It meets two times a week for an hour and
a half each time.
lients' are first educated on the physical and psychological effects caused
by the drug(s) that they are addicted to. This usually takes the first four weeks
of the program. This is followed by at least 8 weeks of intensive group and individual
therapy to address the issues of addiction, denial, recovery, relapse and relapse
prevention.
lients' are also required to attend mandatory 12 step meetings and seek out
a sponsor to assist in their recovery program. After the client is released from
the second phase of the program, he or she is required to attend aftercare for
a minimum of six weeks. This may be longer and will be determined by the progress
